I seriously love Noella Beauty Works and right now there is a giveaway going on for a great set of makeup. Go check it out!
So, I used to rock the Betty Page hair. And honestly, I loved it. But I got bored one day and decided to cut all my hair off. I’ve been kicking myself ever since. So, I’m working on growing my hair back out and my bangs are almost to where they need to be for the Betty bang. Another month or so and I should be able to cut my U shaped bang again. Yay! I had recently purchased some samples of Besame lipsticks and I’ve started wearing them this week to see which colors I like the best. Today was their trademark Besame Red. Here’s the look I did today:
I love how this photo turned out. It’s unedited, except for resizing. It was the last shot I took and I knew the instant the camera clicked that it was the one I was trying to get. If I ever decide to try out for plays that require headshots I’ll be using this one for sure.
The first shot today also turned out cute:
Again, unedited. Just resized. That Besame Red is FIERCE! And I love it!

Recolor my hair.
These are the biggies that I really, really want to get done. Of course I have other goals that recur every month, but I’m not going to bother to list those.
I put on some makeup today in order to look a little put together for taking pictures of my latest sewing projects. I came up with this simple, fast, yet professional looking look:
Definitely not overdone, and it draws attention to my eyes, which is where I want the focus when I’m interviewing.
Foundation: Mary Kay Mineral Foundation Ivory 1
Blush: Mary Kay Cheek Glaze in Pomegranate
Lips: e.l.f. Mineral Lipstick in Rosy Tan
- Mary Kay Eye Primer
- Lid – Rock-A-Betty Beauty Lid Luster in Needful Things
- Crease – Ophelia’s Apothecary Eye Shadow in Bronze Highlights
- Highlight – Stella Starish in Lila’s Light Year
- Inner Corner – e.l.f. Mineral Eye Shadow in Angelic
- Liner – Too Faced Lava Gloss Liner in Brown
- Mascara – Revlon Custom Eyes Mascara in Blackest Black
- Brows – Yves Rocher Brow Pencil in Brown
Overall, I really like the look. But if I do use this for my interview I will use a full-coverage foundation and some concealer. I needed something quick and pretty much melt-proof since it was already 100 degrees when I went out to shoot pics.
Have hands or feet (or both) that look like this?

Today was a SUPER busy one! I had to be “The BEST Mom in the WHOLE WORLD” (Evie quote!) for both my girls and their classrooms’ Thanksgiving feasts today. I decided to go with a autumn/Thanksgiving reminiscent inspiration for my look. Here’s the inspiration yarn:
Filati FF Haiti in the prettiest shades of burgundy, gold, and brown.
Here is my look:
I love how stunning the eye look is. I went a little more subdued with the rest of my cosmetics. Read the rest of this entry
Another late night for doing my “look” of the day. Just didn’t feel it until a few moments ago. Here’s the inspiration:
I don’t often wear blue on my eyes, but when I do it actually looks pretty nice. It pulls the green in my eyes to the front and makes them sparkle. Here’s my look:
This is a super quick look that I literally threw together as I went. I didn’t go full coverage as I’m going to be washing it off shortly, anyways. Read the rest of this entry
I got around to doing my makeup very late this evening. I spent the day studying for tomorrow’s OB/Peds nursing exam and cleaning house. I know, sounds so fun you are just green with envy, right? Here’s the inspiration for today’s makeup:
Leisure Time Yarn 100% Wool fingering weight yarn in shades of dark chocolate, tan and shades between the two.
Here’s the look for today:
Overall, I’m ok with this look. I really liked yesterday’s better, though. Read the rest of this entry
My look for today is a little more subdued. Here’s today’s inspiration:
Lion Brand Homespun Yarn in Prairie
And my look today:
I really love how pretty this turned out! I’m going to keep this look as a go-to look for days I want to be earthy, subdued, but a little extra pretty than normal. Read the rest of this entry
Cheri over at Orglamix is holding a contest for her clients. For the next 30 days I will be posting looks with at least one of her cosmetic products. As I only have one, it will REALLY be a challenge. lol I’m looking forward to it! I have decided to use my yarn stash as inspiration. That’s about all it’s doing right now anyways since I have no time for using it at the moment.
Here’s Day 1’s inspiration:
